Libby Black

This weekend I had the pleasure to attend Libby Black's reception for her new show at MARX & Zavattero "Nothing Lasts Forever".  Previously I scoped her website but hadn't had the opportunity to see her work in real life.

To say that Libby Black is laid back is an understatement.  I left with this impression from both meeting her and getting the chance to view her art.  Previously she has depicted various large fashion brands in her sculptures and in regards to this show she said she simply wanted to paint flowers.

Something about the simplicity of that statement, the inspiration and the mood stuck with me.

The show will be on view until May 26th.  Take a peek. Tell me what you think.
